My husband and I went to the Isle of Palms for our honeymoon. We had a marvelous dinner at Hucks. Our main meal was marvelous, our dessert was to die for, and the view was spectacular. The staff was also extremely helpful.
If you go, you may want to consider making a reservation. We didn’t and got in just fine, but the place filled up very quickly.
Hucks is the best place on IOP! Local, fresh, food! Finally got my husband to eat brussel sprouts! Not an easy task. Nice friendly staff! Just make sure you have a reservation it’s always busy. Hostess even made sure my husband could see the game on tv at the bar from his seat. Great customer service!
This was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a very long time! Our server, Leaa, was extremely friendly, efficient and just an absolute delight. The She Crab soup was the best I have ever tasted, and the rest of the meal equally as delicious! We will definitely be back!
My sister in law and I are visiting the IOP for several days to see a friend who is a local. She recommended that we try Hucks as we were staying only two doors down from the restaurant. We took her advice and so glad we did. We travel the east coast beaches quite alot and eat out very frequently. Hands down, this was one of the best meals we have ever had at a restaurant. Our waiter was very knowledgeable as he had previously worked in the kitchen. He suggested the local, South Carolina wreck fish on special that evening. It was on saffron rice and had a wonderful salsa. The fish was cooked perfectly and the flavors were so wonderful that we cannot stop thinking about it. We are returning tonight to try something else. Also, we were so excited to see that all bottles of wine were half price on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Our table was looking directly out to the ocean. What more can I say?
Since I do not like to experiment too much with my food, I was hesitant about going to Hucks Lowcountry Table. The Fried Green Tomato Bisque was delicious, as was the rest of the meal. I stuck with soup & salad (as I said I’m not a risk taker). But my husband got the she crab soup & sea food special, also very good. The staff was very cordial & the prices were competitive. Would recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I ate here and loved the food. Our server was Chelsea and she was AMAZING, she was enthusiastic, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. This is a fun town to go to eat, have a drink, swim or just relax on the beach.
An island of good food amongst the bad… Had the salad with goat cheese, nuts, and chicken and it was very good.. I usually have the fried chicken, that is excellent and the wine and service is great.. Most places is fried everything, and not very good and this is a great place for the food right on the beach. Can’t wait till summer to try outside seating!
I went to Huck’s while on vacation, my only complaint is it’s over 700 miles from my home. If it was nearby I’d go there once a week. We ordered appetizer, salad, entrée and dessert, everything was prepared and seasoned to perfection. I rarely see such effort given to making the food this delicious.
From the crab guacamole with homemade tortillas to the cinnamon rum brined pork chop, everything we had here was exceptional. Even the desserts and unusual flavors of homemade ice cream were fantastic.
7 diners….7 wonderful dinners! All dinners were unique. Excellent service. We had a wonderful time and it was well worth the price paid and that is not always the case!
GREAT food! I am lucky enough to be local and the food here is fantastic….the staff is SO nice, so accomodating, just a great experience, the chef is not afraid to be creative….this is by far the best restaurant on the island….
